Dear Irina,
I’m writing to you to complain about my hard life at the University, which has become more intensive and exhausting with my fourth academic year.
You know, having passed though the exam of the Theoretical Grammar on my third year, I felt the fresh air of freedom and independence. It took me the whole summer to regain consciousness after that “accident” and recharge my batteries in order to study properly and absorb as much information as I could. I thought my fourth year to be less busy, more active and amusing. But I was wrong.
The very first thing that drove me up the wall when I saw our schedule was two classes of Spanish on Saturdays at 8.30 a.m. Also, it turned out that there is no opportunity for the private life and working as we stay at the University every day till 4 p.m. More surprisingly was the huge size of our home tasks, some of them it’s hard to write in the lines of my date book, as it’s too small for such enormous notes.
Unfortunately, I am a techno bimbo, and now I reap the fruits of this drawback. Our new English teacher who, without any doubts, is a very modern person, asked us to use our computers three times as much as I used to come to it ordinary. Every class we should write something and then publish it somewhere in the Internet or send it to her. Yesterday I spent two hours trying to leave my comments on the writing task on the page of my group mate. Desperately, I phoned to all my friends asking them to help me. However, nobody had any faintest idea about the scared word “blog” and how to use it. I spent an awful half of an hour inserting all possible passwords and usernames, and finally, my computer surrendered. Whether it was a compassion or my own win I don’t know, it didn’t tell me.
Anyway, there are some benefits of being a fourth year student – one of them is a forthcoming fifth year and then getting rid of the University, and another one – I don’t have time for laying on one sofa than migrate to another one and lead a life of a bear – just eat and sleep.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
Jane
